My name is Sandrine , I am a young fashion designer — and I am a tall woman.
For a long time, getting dressed was a source of frustration, especially when it came to outfits for events. In stores, I almost automatically avoided short dresses or evening gowns: I knew, even before trying them on, that they wouldn't suit me. Too short. Not designed for me.
I loved fashion, I loved feeling feminine, elegant, confident…
But I felt that this world wasn't made for my body.
As if being tall made certain desires physically impossible .
I have felt this feeling of exclusion again and again in traditional ready-to-wear.
Understand the body, don't force it
The textile industry has historically been standardized . Sizes were designed to optimize costs, not to represent the real diversity of bodies.
In recent years, many brands have thankfully paved the way for more body-friendly fashion, broadening the spectrum of clothing.
But one offering remained, in my opinion, either missing or underdeveloped :
the one dedicated to tall women .
Women who also want to wear short dresses, sophisticated, modern, daring pieces.
Women who no longer want to choose between style and length .
Women who refuse to compromise.
Fleurs des Dunes was born from this observation — and from this deep need for freedom.
The brand name draws its inspiration from the southwest of France, in the Landes region, and more specifically from the blue sea holly of the dunes .
A wild flower that grows on inhospitable terrain, facing wind, sand, and constraints.
It symbolizes resilience , the ability to grow, to evolve, and above all to dare to show oneself .
Like this flower, tall women do not have to hide or limit themselves.
Being tall should no longer be a barrier to style, sophistication, fun, freedom to dress, or the boldness to fully embrace one's height.
